God’s Goodness

December 26, 2016 By Wendy Willard · Leave a Comment ·

Fruits of the Spirit : goodness
A few weeks ago, I spoke with Rebecca Pierce, as a guest on her podcast. She’s spent the past few months working through the fruits of the spirit. As she’s watched us develop the FIT ministry in Nicaragua, she decided it was a wonderful example of God’s goodness. I couldn’t agree more, and was happy to join her.

This ministry was born out of a desire to help adopting families finish well, after seeing first-hand how long and lonely the adoption process can be. Internationally adopting families typically must spend anywhere from a few weeks to a few months far away from their support systems in order to bring the child home. Just this past year, we watched families spend anywhere from six to twelve!!! months away from home, without ever planning to be gone that long.

When God brought us to Nicaragua, we had no idea why he wanted us there—only the expectation that if we were obedient to his leading, he would clearly show us. And he did. (Hear more about this in the podcast.)

His goodness is overflowing!

Whenever I have the privilege of speaking with families who are preparing to adopt in Nicaragua, I always tell them the same thing: God loves you so much he put this ministry in place to help support you through the process. I still can’t believe he asked me to take part in his work like this! He is just good like that!

So I was honored and humbled to spend a few minutes with Rebecca talking about God’s goodness. You can listen here:
